Objectives
The objective of the Association is to promote and support its Members' joint activities and interests in the field of windtunnel testing, including advanced techniques in instrumentation, model manufacturing, measuring technologies, benchmarking tests and experimental simulation technologies related to windtunnel testing (the "Field"), thereby contributing to Europe's role as a global player in aeronautics.
This objective will be met by the following activities:
- to promote the cooperation between the Members in research and development related to the Field by providing a forum for the Members to agree on joint research projects;
- to stimulate the participation of its Members in European R&D projects in the Field;
- to promote efficient R&D in Europe in the Field by spreading of excellence activities, such as the organisation of workshops;
- maintaining a knowledge base for its Members on capabilities and experts in the Field;
- establishing contacts between its Members and third parties active in the Field, also for information on testing capabilities;
- to promote and represent the joint interests of its Members by communicating the views of the Members to national government departments and agencies, parliaments, the European Commision and Parliament and other relevant organisations;
- to intensify the cooperation between its Members aiming at further integration of their activities in the Field;
- providing a platform for activities in training and exchange of personnel as well as common use of equipment;
- to provide a forum for exchange of non-competitive information;
- to act as a technical centre providing commentary, guidance and advice on regulatory developments and quality standards of relevance to windtunnel testing;
- to act as a statistical centre, to aggregate and publish statistics, and to provide analysis on windtunnel testing and other relevant market information.
